I just installed Speed Bleeders on my “new” ‘61 F100 and I’m not totally convinced. Anyone have experience with these things? It just seemed like they went in very hard to get them tight enough not to leak fluid. I haven’t backed them out / re-tightened, and I know they come with thread sealant on them... which makes it tighter. I guess we’ll see after I get a chance to use them in bleeding out my brakes before I make a judgment.
A picture of the truck pulling out a stump for your time. (smiley faces because the interwebz are creeps) My 3-year-old thought this was about the best thing ever.

I like them, and it was the only way to get C3 vette brakes bled with DOT5.
If you have a couple extra bucks a Motive pressure bleeder is a nice tool to have.

I’ve never had a problem. I like them.

Oh gads, DOT5 bleeding. I’ve never used speed bleeders, but I have used a suck-back hose on the bleeder and teflon tape on the bleeder threads. It’s still usually better to make it a two-man job most of the time compared to *that*, though. Too much setup.

What makes it worse is that C3 calipers have two bleeders each, so 8 total.
Once you go Motive you’ll never go back.

We had fits with getting DOT5 bled in my cousin’s Rover, but it sure got a whole lot easier once we finally figured out the master was sucking air, after like two months. That was a day for some facepalms.

I’ve never used them, but I bought one of these a few years ago and it’s great. Also a 1-man bleeding operation. I needed to change the brake fluid in my wife’s car and was dreading all the bleeding, found this at Harbor Freight for like $20, figured it was worth a shot. Very easy to bleed brakes by yourself now, and you can see when the bubbles stop.

I use my Motive pressurizer first when I can. My old Dodge Caravan couldn’t accept any Motive master cylinder adapter so it was the speed bleeders. I had no issues and liked them.
You’re sure everything is correct? Correct threads, no debris, etc? The sealant may act like teflon tape so you don’t suck back air through the threads?
